The Drei-Seen-Bahn, or Three Lakes Railway is situated in the south of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest). The line is so-named because it runs past three lakes, Titisee, Windgfällweiher and the 8km long Schluchsee. It leaves the Freiberg - Donaüschingen line at Titisee and runs for 19 km up to Seebrugg, passing through Feldberg Bärental, the highest railway station in Germany at 967m above sea level. The line is electrified and enjoys an hourly service from Freiberg, but additionally a preservation group run steam trains over the line several times a year.
