A New Democrat MPP is calling on the province to ban the advertising of what he calls "unhealthy food and drink" aimed at children. Sergio Marchese is introducing a private members bill that would restrict advertising targeting kids under age 13. At a news conference this morning, he cited figures indicating 26 percent of Canadian children are overweight or obese. He says parents often feel powerful pressure from their kids to buy certain foods.
